Just last month, Firewatch fans freaked out a little bit more when multiple Campo Santo developers who had joined Valve removed any and all mention of In the Valley of Gods from their Twitter bios. Some Firewatch fans worried that Campo Santo had been swallowed by a company notorious for not shipping games. The following year, Valve, the maker of Counter-Strike, Steam, and Dota 2, snapped up Campo Santo. At this point, if gamers have the means to play God of War they should, and even if it’s a replay of the PC version is still well worth checking out.In 2017, Firewatch developer Campo Santo unveiled In the Valley of Gods, a promising-looking first-person adventure set in Egypt. But the magic on display with the PC port pushes an already tremendous game to new heights and offers some key features that will help it run well on a variety of modern machines. There is no question that God of War is an exceptional game. This is still a treat after nearly four years. The story is meaningful and emotional, the mechanics are thoughtful and entertaining, and the presentation on the PC is simply unrivaled. God of War is still one of the most entertaining, engaging, and impactful games to come out of Santa Monica Studios. From story and gameplay to visuals and soundtrack, this game has it all.
It still excels, in every sense of the word. A whole new lot of creatures, monsters, and gods are to be defeated.
